UMI 海 means Ocean in Japanese. The sea inspires and craftsmanship is sublime. This collection pays homage to the beauty of the oceans, with the main element being the mother-of-pearl of oyster shells from the Arcachon Bay.
The petty knife is the equivalent of a Western paring knife. It is therefore one of the essential blades to have in a kitchen, with the difference that the petty knife lends itself to more uses than a classic paring knife.

Since its inception in 2013, H&K Co. Ltd. has sought out the best products Japan has to offer. In 2019, we developed our original brand, “Hatsukokoro.” The word “Hatsukokoro” comes from the Japanese proverb “don’t forget your original intention.”
Due to the contracts stipulated between the brand and the blacksmiths, the identity of certain blacksmiths sometimes remains a mystery, which makes things a little more exciting.
