Since its founding in 2013, H&K Co. Ltd. has sought out the finest products Japan has to offer. In 2019, we developed our original brand, “Hatsukokoro.” The name Hatsukokoro comes from the Japanese proverb “never forget your original intention.”
Due to the agreements between the brand and the blacksmiths, the identity of some of the blacksmiths remains a mystery, which makes things a little more exciting.

Entirely handcrafted, the handle is made of stained and stabilized maple burl wood with a white turquoise stone bolster.
Tateo Myojin is a highly skilled blacksmith based in Tosa City and the mastermind behind this series of Kurogane knives, made from Aogami steel. Aogami steel can be sharpened to a very fine edge for clean and precise cuts. The Kurogane series offers excellent value for money.
